An LED shadow gap combines a setback between the membrane and wall with perimeter lighting. This visually separates the ceiling from the walls and creates a floating effect.

The FLOATIA profile holds the PVC membrane with a harpoon, forms an even reveal at the wall and provides space for an LED strip. Light emerges from the perimeter gap rather than from a strip across the ceiling surface.

Plan the strip power supply, driver location and maintenance access before installation. Select the strip parameters according to the lighting design. Whether a diffuser is used depends on the specific model and its kit.

INVISIA is used for a shadow gap without lighting. For a comparison with a line in the ceiling surface, see LIGHTRA or FLOATIA. More about the perimeter models in The FLOATIA series.

Frequently asked questions

How does an LED shadow gap differ from a light line? The gap illuminates the perimeter at the walls. A light line crosses the ceiling surface and is covered by a diffuser.

Is a floating ceiling a separate construction type? It is a visual effect created by combining a shadow gap with LED lighting.

Is a diffuser always required? That depends on the profile model and design. Check the kit of the selected product.
