A shadow gap is a narrow, even reveal between the stretch-ceiling membrane and the wall. A dedicated perimeter profile controls its width and line, so no decorative tape is needed.
It is not simply a space left during installation. The profile holds the membrane edge within its section and maintains a defined setback from the wall. The ceiling appears visually separate from the wall, and minor irregularities along the junction are less noticeable.
In a classic detail, a decorative insert conceals the fixing. With a shadow-gap profile, the reveal itself finishes the perimeter. The membrane fixing is selected separately: shadow gap describes the junction geometry, not whether a harpoon or clip is used.
INVISIA is designed for a shadow perimeter without mandatory lighting. FLOATIA serves a different purpose: its profile accommodates an LED strip and adds light to the shadow line. Compare the two in Light lines and illuminated shadow gaps.
Install the profile accurately before ordering the membrane, because deviations will remain visible in the gap. Fixings depend on the substrate; dimensions, corners and compatible components must be taken from the drawing of the selected model.

Frequently asked questions
Is decorative tape required? Usually not. The shadow line itself finishes the perimeter.
Can a classic profile produce a shadow gap? No. Moving the membrane away from the wall is not enough; the profile must have the appropriate geometry.
Does a shadow gap always include lighting? No. INVISIA provides a gap without mandatory lighting, while FLOATIA is designed for an LED strip.
